How does this work?

The Niagara Beekeepers’ club is a membership program where every second Wednesday of every month, all beekeepers or aspiring beekeepers get together for the evening to converse over any questions or concerns they may have. Each meeting will have a certain topic or theme with refreshments provided and will be held at different venues to accommodate as many people as possible. This membership program provides beekeeping news and updates, but that is not all! Once you login to your portal you have access to a question board where you can ask questions online and get an immediate response from either your fellow beekeepers or our team here at B-Y’s Honey Farm. Beekeeping should be fun but we also have a responsibility to the honey bees and our future.

Why was the club created?

The honey bee population is becoming an alarming issue and seems to be having a big impact on our environment and communities. As many may know, honey bees are vital to our existence because they not only have a major role in food supply but also in the health of humanity. There are products like pollen, propolis and royal jelly that have amazing healing components that can help prevent and cure some of the toughest diseases we are faced with in this day and age. Did you know, even the stingers have the ability to improve arthritis, lyme disease, and fight against cancer cells? The list goes on! In addition to that, there are many changes happening in the farm industry like GMO products and Neonics that have extreme negative consequences to the environment and even to our health.

Knowledge is power and with the right vision put in place, we can work together to make a difference and create a better future for generations to come. The possibilities are endless but we couldn’t do it without you.

How did we start?

B-Y’s Honey Farm has been working hard for the past few years in serving local beekeepers and guiding them through to a successful journey in beekeeping. Over the years, B-Y’s noticed the need in helping each other and solving some complex questions in regards to honey bees and the hive. Keeping bees can be a very humbling hobby but there is a lot to learn from these extraordinary creatures. B-Y’s wants to make sure every new and current beekeeper is equipped with the right knowledge and information in order to have a successful journey in beekeeping. With this demand of knowledge and help, B-Y’s put their thinking caps on and created a club that can be fun and productive at the same time.
